Content
On the occasion of the world fair in Paris in 1878, the Koninklijke Nederlandsche Stoomdrukkerij submitted a calendar for 1879 which, according to the Nieuwe Rotterdamsche Courant was "a masterpiece of chromotypography". It consisted of six different sheets, each done with a different typesetting which were, for those days, unbelievable examples of "ingenuity, talent and craftsmanship". The typeset forms were also exhibited to show that this was indeed printed matter. There was also a sample book with examples of the major printed works and type specimens made by the Stoomdrukkerij.
