Content
There is some uncertainty about the origin of this guild medal. It might have come from Amsterdam or Middelburg, the first Dutch town with a printers' and booksellers' guild of its own. This coin was in the possession of a certain Johannes Wilmerdonk, master and later (or before) of Pieter van Goethen, warden of the guild. It shows a printing press, but presses on medals are not really represented true to nature. It can therefore not exactly be deduced what kind of press is represented.
