 This print is part of `The use and misuse of time', a series of four allegorical prints devoted to time with in the middle, the figure of Father Time, surrounded by a number of people devoting themselves to useful and honest pursuits. We see them, for example, forging, watching over sheep, making shoes, painting and spinning. To the far right a woman is selling books in a bookstall.
