 Johannes Lomeier (1636-1699), a learned minister and an authority on the classical languages and archaeology from Zutphen wrote this book which is generally considered to be the first library guide of Europe. It contains a historical survey, a classification scheme and short descriptions of famous public and private libraries throughout Europe.
