 M.J. Dessaur started a lithographic company around 1860 at Garenbrug no. 51 in Utrecht. He distributed this circular to announce his new business and he declared, among other things, that 'he engraved on stone using the latest methods and using the lining and gillochering machine to produce the most beautiful and richest decoration'. He also promised his potential customers tasteful work and neatness in printing with speedy delivery and 'moderate prices'.
