From the commemorative book: "It is especially clear in the book bindery how much better and faster everything is nowadays with machines than previously with handmade. As well as the improved cutting machine, there are now folding machines, machines to sew books, others with which the round spine of the book is made, flatting machines, perforation machines, ruling machines, etc. Binding requires much care, neatness, taste and, above all, many years of experience".
