 One of the earliest subscription lists can be found in the 'Reizen van Cornelis de Bruyn door de vermaardste deelen van Klein Asia', 1698. This voluminous and richly illustrated book required high investment costs. So it was of great importance that a quick sale of a large part of the impression was guaranteed.
