Content
In 1586 Jan Canin of Dordrecht printed this five-volume folio edition of "Chronica Carionis: van den beghinne der werelt aen tot op keyser Carolum, den vijfden". This Dutch version of the German translation of an originally Latin title was made possible by the financial support of Dordrecht's town authorities. With the dedication Canin thanks his financiers, and he dwells on the relevance of this translation in the vernacular, and on the struggle and expense it took to realize it.
