Content
 The set-up of printing houses changed completely when compared to the hand-printing period due to drastic technological changes, but a strong hierarchical relation between owner and employees as well as among employees themselves continued to be present for a much longer time. In addition to the owner, a printing house such as the `Amsterdamsche Boek- en Steendrukkerij' employed a foreman, apprentices, journeymen, compositors, printers and proof readers.
