Content
In the 13th century, Bartholomeus Anglicus wrote his encyclopaedic work about the properties of things. Around 1470 the first printed Latin edition was published. Bellaert published the Dutch translation with a few beautiful woodcuts. Here the twelve months of the year are depicted. The initial and the border decoration on the text page are fully reminiscent of the manuscripts.
