 This plate is from a manual on the art of engraving, where almost all the techniques are discussed that were known up to that time. In this print we see the workshop of an engraver in wood and all kinds of instruments: first of all a workbench (fig. 1) and furthermore all kinds of planes, knives, paring chisels, gouges, hammers, scrapers, burins, rulers, compasses, etc., seen from various sides.
