Content
This plate shows engraving `in the manner of crayon', in which drawings in black or red crayon are imitated faithfully, in such a way `that the true connoisseur at the first glance cannot differentiate between the original drawing and the print made after it'. When this technique is used, no lines are drawn on the copper plate, but the drawing-like effect is obtained by using a mixture of different and randomly placed dots.
