Content
This electrically driven cylinder press with automatic layers and a counter was set up at A.W. Sijthoff in Leiden. Once such a machine had been set up, in 1926 or thereabouts, 'then it would happily continue to print, requiring only the watchful eye of the printer to see that everything continued to work properly although it seldom went wrong'. The iron hand press on the left was in use with Sijthoff in 1851, the year the firm was established.
